Students' supplementary education as means to provide education and health parity

The significance of supplementary education as a promising trend of pedagogical science development is described. The role of students' supplementary education in higher educational system is characterized. The author emphasizes the importance of supplementary professional competences and health-improving programmes realization as the most popular youth supplementary education trends. Special attention is paid to education and health properties as education results. What is more, if education stands as a planned result of learning process, then health, and more exactly, its negative changes, as a rule are expressed as unplanned effects. The interrelations of students' education and health indices, appearing during the process of basic and supplementary educational training are described. The essence and conceptual basis of the education and health parity are defined in the article. The possible ways of achieving the students' education and health parity within the process of supplementary education regulated by the educational standards are considered. The main idea is to use supplementary education to decrease the negative trends in students’ health.
