The article examines the multi-component nature of E. A. Kibrik’s work as a new littlestudied culturological aspect of his work on the example of previously unknown portraits and genre scenes performed by him from the collection of the Nikolaev Regional Art Museum named after V. V. Vereshchagin and the Voznesensky Art Museum of E. A. Kibrik. These works are introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The artist’s synthesized language is based on the interpretation of the traditions of generations of masters of art: Rembrandt, F. Hals, O. Daumier, E. Degas, K. Monet, as well as domestic authors: P. N. Filonov, A. N. Samokhvalov and others. We conclude that the specificity of Kibrik’s graphic art of the 1930th is in the multiplicity of artistic influences and, as a consequence, in the heterogeneity of the manner of performance. With all the diversity of his works, we designate the following communities: psychological types; study of the figure in the surrounding space; compositions with a touch of genre interpretations. Freedom of self-expression, the search for an individual line of creativity in the 1930th, largely predetermined by the departure of E. A. Kibrik from the Collective of Masters of Analytical Art (KMAI), allowed him to experiment and create vivid portrait images that are significant in his creative development.
