The article presents an analysis of the works of domestic and foreign researchers devoted to predictors of academic success of high school students and students of related levels of education. The results of consideration of modern scientific researches of non-cognitive predictors of academic success of high school students are presented, their groups are highlighted. The trend of shifting the focus of scientific researches from cognitive predictors to individual qualities of students (self-organization, motivation, purposefulness, sociability) is noted. Based on the results of the empirical study, the role of the family in formation of attitudes related to education in general is revealed, non-cognitive predictors of academic success associated with the family environment are highlighted. The conclusion is made about the advisability of continuing the study of factors contributing to improvement of quality of education and achievement of academic goals of training.
