We present the analysis of immediate and long-term results of treatment of 62 gastric cancer patients with synchronous primary multiple malignant tumors, who had been treated from 2004 to 2013 (main group) and 1390 patients with isolated stomach cancer (comparison group) in City Clinical Oncological Hospital № 1 of Moscow City Health Department. The main group consisted of 50 men (80.6%) and 12 women (19.4%). In the comparison group there were 713 men (51.3%) 102 and 677 women (48.7%). In the main group, the average age of patients was 64.3 years (44 -77 years), in the comparison group - 62.1 years (23-87 years). In the main group, the operability of patients was 91.9% and the resectability of gastric cancer - 91.2%. In the comparison group, operability was 89.5%, the resectability of the stomach cancer - 88.3%. The frequency of postoperative complications in the main group was 12.3% (7/57), in the comparison group - 7.8% (97/1244). Postoperative mortality was 3.5% and 4.7%, respectively. In the main group, the overall 5-year survival rate was 26.8%, and in the comparison group it was 2 times higher - 50.9%. These results are explained by the difficulties of diagnosis and the typical late detection of the second synchronous tumor.
