Averintsev “Mediterranean soil scientist”, the author uses the words of the scientist himself, trying to emphasize: largely thanks to the philological works of the researcher, unique in their scientific scale, depth and spiritual significance, organically connected with his cultural and philosophical metaphysics, our contemporary discovered Byzantium as the historical homeland of Orthodoxy, Hodegetria to the heavenly world, gained reliable support for understanding the spiritual principles and authenticity of Russian national spirituality.
