Using the Republic of Adygea as an example, this article analyzes the legal framework for language policy, which represents a comprehensive system of legal norms encompassing both federal and regional acts. The article examines constitutional provisions, federal legislation, and republican laws that ensure the preservation and development of the languages of the peoples of Adygea. The Constitution of the Republic of Adygea and the Law «On the Languages of the Peoples of the Republic of Adygea» establish the legal basis for the functioning of the languages of the peoples living in the region. Particular attention is paid to measures aimed at preserving and developing the Adyghe language. Prospects for developing the legal framework for language policy in the Republic of Adygea include improving the legislative framework, taking into account best practices from other regions and changing socio-demographic conditions; developing effective mechanisms for implementing existing laws and programs, including monitoring and evaluating their effectiveness; strengthening the role of civil society in the development and implementation of language policy, including dialogue with national and cultural associations; and using modern technologies to preserve and promote the Adyghe language, including digital educational resources and online courses. The authors conclude that the legal framework for language policy in Adygea is a complex system that requires constant monitoring and adaptation to changing conditions. The effective functioning of this system is possible only through a comprehensive approach, including both legislative initiatives and practical measures to support and develop the languages of the peoples of Adygea.
