The preservation of traditions and achievements of the national system of musical education is discussed today at the highest government level. At the same time, the analysis of publications on this issue shows that in the form in which it was inherited from the USSR, it cannot ensure the restoration of a high level of professional musical and instrumental art and musical culture of the population. Based on a comparative analysis of e ective concepts for building musical education in foreign countries and using the personal experience of one of the authors of the article, we can conclude that in modern conditions it is necessary to search for alternative forms of introducing children to the musical and instrumental genre. The authors believe that the advanced experience of countries that have achieved signi cant success in this direction can and should be used to form a highly e ective modern concept of musical education in Russia. This will signi cantly increase both the general level of musical culture of citizens of the Russian Federation and contribute to the restoration of the level of professional brass performance, which is experiencing a period of protracted crisis in our country.
