About medical and criminal-legal aspects of prevention and control of the spread of sexually transmitted diseases in the Russian Federation

Goal. To consider and analyze medical-preventive and legal measures and means of containing and reducing the incidence of sexually transmitted infections in the population. Tasks. Compare the provisions of Articles 121 and 122 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation concerning the possibility of criminal prosecution for the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and human immunodeficiency virus, and notes to Article 122 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation entailing exemption from liability as part of the legal controversy about the desirability of extending this note to venereal diseases.
