On several structural and lexical-semantic peculiarities of the genre of penance

The article considers the religious sacrament of penance in its historical development. From the linguistic point of view penance is characterized as a speech genre, which has pronounced specificity. On the basis of the existing samples the article presents the analysis of composite and lexical-semantic peculiarities of this type of texts, and also the factors of the address-ee and the addresser.
