Concerning the necessity of teaching mathematical methods of music study in the system of contemporary music education

The paper analyzes the mathematical methods of music study presented in scientific music works of various historical periods, including the second half of the XX -early XXI centuries, as well as the opportunity to develop mathematical interpretations of logic regularities of music, which were performed in the works of prominent scientists and musicians. The authors apply the established approaches to the study of the generalization structure using the set theory, the probability theory and the information theory. These approaches make it possible to identify the research results that are most relevant to solving this problem, and are essential for the modern theory of music and the system of music education.
