The article shows the process of formation and development of the concept of curative education as a separate branch of education science. The authors analyse the concept in the framework of various conceptions and approaches. The modern interpretation of the curative education, and its difference from the speech pathology studies is discussed. The authors believe that the curative education concept reflects its humanistic and integrative nature.
