The article discusses the issues of teaching the academic discipline "Philosophy" to the cadets of the Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Education at the Samara Law Institute of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. The authors explain the need for the study of philosophy by employees of the Penal System, consider teaching methods aimed at effectively mastering the fundamentals of philosophy by students, describe the need for the formation of philosophical thinking and the development of cadets' worldview.
