The issue of the “educational training” of foreign languages and the teacher’s philosophy of life in the academic course of University students are considered in the article. The emphasis is put on one of the most important problems facing teachers of foreign languages during educational-cognitive process that is presenting a foreign language as the means of introducing students to another culture. The article addresses the question on the urgency of the problem of the respectful attitude formation to one’s own culture via correlating it with the culture of a foreign country, that is via the dialogue of cultures. It is noted that the section and evaluation of the educational materials, which contain some definite sense are fully dependent on the teacher’s philosophy of life. The main systematic method which appears to be the most helpful technique on motivating students to discuss complex and difficult social, economic, political and cultural problems is the academic course dialogization revealing itself in critical thinking and collating analysis of contemporary life phenomena of one’s own country with foreign ones. The priority of axiological approach to the sense items interpretation within the content of written and oral speech of a teacher and students makes the topicality of the article conditional on it.The many years experience of the authors on discussing the supporting base materials of the “Foundation” textbook (IELTS) and the newspaper “The Moscow News” has been described in the article.
