About scenarios of cooperation of border regions of Russia and Ukraine in the conditions of uncertainty

Political relations between Russia and Ukraine are in a state of stress. Experts develop diverse scenarios up to radical ones. However, there are opinions that the Ukrainian and Russian economic and political mutually beneficial cooperation will be realized. In the conditions of a deteriorating economic situation, the ongoing conflict in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republic threatens Russia’s political, financial, diplomatic losses. The stated purpose of the federalization of Ukraine (with Donbass) failed because of Kiev virtually detached the uncontrolled territories, having ended their funding and having evacuated all the state and budget structures, putting the self-proclaimed republic to the brink of hunger revolts. Creation of a strong political and economic system in the conditions of a constant risk of managers change, of the risk of a new military conflict is impossible.
