In the article, on the basis of the accompanying texts for the 1648 Grammar edition, taking into account the church-historical situation and a certain dynamics of linguistic consciousness, the correlation of grammatical knowledge and theology is considered. The collection of accompanying the aforementioned texts of the Church tradition, designed, according to the publishers, to make an argument in favor of the theological meaning of grammatical knowledge, is in its internal, mainly Byzantine (or Byzantine-oriented) context not very simple, and the idea of theologization of “external wisdom” does not correspond. That (“external wisdom” and faith-consciousness) that coexists in the Byzantine cultural paradigm as different, hierarchically verified and axiologically heterogeneous, in the Russian religious consciousness, faith and culture are axiologically and functionally non- discriminating, in such nondiscrimination and perceived. Therefore, in this case, in the Russian reception of elements of the Byzantine cultural heritage, these elements are, as it were, equal to each other in the order of participation in the sacred unity of religious tradition. To have a place, i.e. to be present in a culture, and to be religiously significant (sacral) - in such a tradition coincides. Paradoxically, as part of the accompanying texts for the Moscow edition of Grammar, grammatical knowledge, which is at the origin of the emancipation of culture from faith, demonstrates its high status in the forms of the old, isolated existence of a culture that does not imply a religious tradition.
