The article attempts to form culturology on the basis of the Orthodox worldview. Culturology, which includes the general theory of culture, is a science that received a powerful impetus in its formation in the late Soviet period and developed in the last half century mainly in Russia and in the post-Soviet space. (Abroad, there is no exact correspondence to Russian culturology.) This discipline has developed a rich theoretical base, but its starting point was Marxism as its birthmark. Our task was to take everything valuable from the theoretical experience of Soviet and post-Soviet culturology, but insert it into a different worldview frame and try to build an Orthodox culturology that would be based on Orthodox anthropology, while maintaining a scientific approach to the subject of research. This article is an introduction to the project carried out by the author.
