On important directions in the comparative analysis of philosophical and theological concepts of E. N. Trubetskoy and priest P. Florensky

The article compares some philosophical and theological concepts of E. N. Trubetskoy and Priest P. Florensky. The first publication of their correspondence and publication of E. Trubetskoy’s speech at the meeting of the Religious-Philosophical Society of Memory of V. Solovyov in Moscow in 1914 is analyzed. It is noted that this correspondence and E. Trubetskoy’s speech “The light of Favor and the transformation of the mind” set two themas for comparative analysis of the concepts of the two thinkers. These themas are interconnected and connected with the different approaches of Trubetskoy and Florensky to the understanding of the V. Solovyov’s philosophy of pan- unity. Other features of metaphysics and gnosseology of Trubetskoy and Florensky are also considered. Particular attention to their ideas about Divine ideas and the criteria for the validity of religious experience is paid. The main conclusion is made that the concepts of Trubetskoy and Florensky should be considered taking into account their attitude to V. Solovyov, Schelling and German mysticism. This article is mainly a collection of materials for future research and contains only a preliminary analysis that can serve as a further development of the themas.
