The article attempts to question the need for teaching mnogokasatelnoy, tolerant history of the Fatherland. Examines the experience of such work in the Ural Polytechnic University at the end of the last century. Discusses the strengths and weaknesses of this teaching. The conclusion about the obligatory teaching of such techniques on the historical, philosophical and political professions in modern universities.
