The article examines the consequences of implementing the provisions of the legislation on the turnover of alcoholic beverages. Using statistical data provided by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation, using such scientific research methods as synthesis, induction and observation, we have attempted to study the impact of the provisions of the Federal Law of the Russian Federation № 171-FZ of 11/22/1995 «On State Regulation of the Production and Turnover of Ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products and on the restriction of consumption (drinking) of alcoholic products» on the dynamics of the number of previously investigated crimes committed while intoxicated, as well as the dynamics of the number of persons who committed crimes under the influence of alcohol. Indicators of turnover of alcoholic beverages are studied in the ratio of volumes of alcoholic beverages produced (sold), volumes of retail sales of alcoholic beverages, with the exception of beer, beer drinks, cider, poiret and mead, as well as individual indicators of investigated criminal cases of various categories.
