The article considers the analysis of A. Chekhov's story "Daughter of Albion" (1883) in the context another works of A. Chekhov and in comparison with Kukryniksy's illustrations (1941) and G. Seurat's picture «A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte» (1886). The authors compare the image of girl with fishing rod, which gives accent to the key moments of the Chekhov's story, at the same time making Seurat painting more mysterious, balancing the composition and correlating with the woman with the monkey. The Chekhov's and Seurat's individual creative methods in the aspect of arts interaction and gender problems are juxtaposed.
