Literary awards as a practice of institutional regulation of the development of the literary sphere: a socially saving aspect

This article deals with the problems of the modern Russian system of literary awards. The author emphasizes that the predominance of material incentives over informational incentives leads to insufficient fame of novice authors and inefficient use of resources. The basic, rudimentary state of the institution of literary awards in Russia and its reduced efficiency are described. The article focuses on the potential of literary awards as a tool for influencing the cultural sphere and stabilizing the social process. The main proposal of the author is to correct the problem of bias towards the material aspect, with an emphasis on the development of information support for significant events in the world of literature. The article analyzes the ways of activating literary creativity and the possibilities for managing and developing the literary sphere through the organization of literary awards.
