The article considers the symbolism of the mirror in the works of the writer. Much attention is paid to the mythological interpretations of the sign in the history of cultural, philosophical, psychological and artistic connotations of considered image in the story «Damaged» and «Thieving Magpie», in the work «The Past and Thoughts».
