The essence of educational intensive as a new format of project learning is discussed. The technology of conducting intensive courses at the International Institute of Design and Service is described. It is noted that the innovative approach to teaching/learning requires the modification of it, i.e. curriculum and schedule corrections foe secondary and higher education, changes in the courses content and the format of student learning. It is concluded that the introduction of educational intensive courses as a new format of project learning ensures that universal competences in accordance with FSES 3++ are formed; the employers get ready business products and students form their personal development trajectories
