Educational potential of augmented reality

The article deals with the substantiation of the usage of AR technologies aimed at the development of the cognitive interest of the students of the Information and Technology training programs in the process of studying the profile disciplines. There is emphasized the necessity of the usage of the immersive technologies. There are revealed the peculiarities and advantages of the use of the augmented reality in comparison with the virtual one. The author presents the empirical data proving the efficiency of the use of augmented reality in the educational process.
