Jargon and slang are increasingly permeating the speech of modern students. This phenomenon is attributed not only to generational shifts but also to the changes occurring in society, the advancement of technology, and the proliferation of the Internet. Work on language norms is crucial in the education of secondary school students. Teaching the norms of literary language, or the linguistic norms of the Russian language, represents a complex process that engages various tools. Russian language textbooks and educational materials are essential components and tools through which knowledge about language norms is conveyed, as well as gaps in knowledge are addressed, and challenges faced by students are overcome. The task of educational institutions is to form students' solid knowledge of language norms and skills for their correct application. This necessitates a reassessment of approaches to the creation of textbooks and educational materials to ensure their relevance and effectiveness in the context of the modern information society. Training should not only incorporate traditional methods but also take into account the peculiarities of Internet communication in order to successfully overcome emerging language barriers. Thus, the article aims to address a pressing issue: increasing the level of comprehension of language norms among students through the revision of textbooks and educational materials, which is a significant step towards the preservation and development of the Russian language in the face of modern challenges.
