Maritime English teaching: the way from tradition to innovation

The educational system of Maritime English, that is based on the principles of intensive teaching of foreign languages of professional communication, is considered. There is given the example of the successful use of innovative technologies in the organization of teaching foreign languages to the students and cadets of marine training programs of university. The solutions, implemented in the educational process in the different periods of time, include the methodology of intensive introduction of foreign language information with the use of rhythm stimulation (rhythmopedia), the active use of technical educational means and their potential (laboratory of oral speech, class of computer technologies and its resources) and the use of artificial intelligence and neural networks in the development of foreign language communicative professional competence of the graduates of marine training programs of university.
