The article is devoted to the problem of teachers' training to work in the Soviet school in the 1920s-1930s. The article examines the formation and development of pedagogical educational institutions in this period. The article also presents the prerequisites for the organization of professional pedagogical education in Orenburg region. The specific data on the number of students in pedagogical educational institutions during this period is given. The directions of training in the pedagogical institute are highlighted. The prerequisites for opening correspondence departments in Orenburg region are substantiated. The focus of the article is one of the optimal forms of training - pedagogical courses. The basic stages of formation of course preparation, methods, organizational and methodological support of this work, problems and difficulties, their overcoming are considered. The article also shows the relevance of taking into account the regional specifics of education.
