The article deals with the issue of teaching students to solve the olympiad tasks by the means of the theory of graphs. There is substantiated the significance f teaching students to solve the olympiad tasks that are important means of self-improvement and personal self-fulfilment. The teaching is considered as an approach when the learning activity of students is designed and implemented in terms of solving advisably selected tasks.
