Evaluation of the antiproliferative activity of the peptide inhibitor E2F in vitro

The combination of the possibility of targeted delivery of peptides into the cell and the discovery of short functional domains in proteins regulating various cellular functions created the prerequisites for the design of molecules with pathogenetic orientation. The relative simplicity of synthesis of such molecules allows to speak about the possibility in principle to create on their basis individual chemopreparations, i. e. compounds influencing pathological changes peculiar to a particular tumor. E2F family proteins are promising targets for the creation of new antitumor drugs. They are the keyeffectors of Cdk-Rb-E2F signaling pathway, and the possibility to influence their activity opens a great opportunity to regulate the proliferative activity of tumor cells. The article presents the results of the study of antiproliferative properties of the E2F1 peptide inhibitor sequence on the cell lines of lung cancer and colorectal cancer.
