Assessment of Eco-Innovation Performance of Russian High-Tech Enterprises

Free access

The introduction of ecological innovations into production by high-tech enterprises is an important process in the transition toward sustainable development. The activities of the companies can have both positive and negative impact on the environment. However, the environmental performance reporting system used at Russian enterprises has a number of shortcomings, as confirmed in this study. In this regard, it is necessary to develop an intuitive eco-innovation performance reporting system designed to evaluate the impact of high-tech companies on environmental conditions. The authors propose recommendations for collecting data on the eco-innovation activities of enterprises and overcoming the problem of the absence of a unified tool for evaluating the company’s environmental performance. During the study, an index for assessing the eco-innovation performance of high-tech companies has been developed and calculated. It is assumed that this tool can be used in further research in this field.
