Evaluation of pulmonary and cardiovascular system in patients with COPD and chronic non-obstructive bronchitis

The study included the evaluation of condition of the lungs by data of multislice computed tomography and of cardiovascular system by data of echocardiography in two groups of patients with similar complaints: with COPD diagnosis, confirmed by data of spirometry, and with chronic non-obstructive bronchitis. The examination revealed similar pathological changes in the lungs, signs of minimal airflow obstruction in patients with chronic non-obstructive bronchitis. A high prevalence of predictors of chronic pulmonary heart disease in patients with COPD was detected.
