Strindberg's “Fire of the heart” and Mayakovsky's “Heart's on fire”: comparative research

The article presents an experience of comparative typological analysis of the metaphor of “burning”, its semantics and functions in the imaginative structure of Strindberg’s “Love’s Sickness” and Mayakovsky’s “A Cloud in Trousers”. The purpose was to identify the authors’ imaginative models and general logic of the form and content evolution in modernism poetry.
