The relevance of this study is driven by the shifting priorities in modern education, aimed at ensuring quality and fostering functional literacy among modern schoolchildren. A pivotal aspect in this endeavor is the quality of reading and text comprehension. Existing research in both international and Russian contexts regarding this issue focuses on the final assessment of students’ learning outcomes. This study aims to systematically foster and develop reading literacy among schoolchildren through the utilization of developed online-simulators during literary reading lessons. These platforms enable students to locate information within texts, formulate conclusions, analyze, and evaluate the content of what they read. It is proved that the systematic use of educational online-simulators in primary school contributes to the formation and development of students’ reading literacy, enabling them to comprehend written texts, establish causal relationships between its parts, draw conclusions, understand the author’s attitude to heroes and events, interpret information, and apply knowledge in both academic and real-life contexts. By integrating these platforms into the educational curriculum, educators can create dynamic and personalized learning experiences that empower students to become proficient readers and critical thinkers. Moving forward, further research is warranted to explore the long-term effects of online-simulators on literacy development and their broader implications for educational practice.
