Acquittal in Russian criminal law

The relevance of the study of the legal foundations and practice of the application of acquittal is due to the need to improve justice in Russian justice, identify systemic problems and improve the quality of judicial decisions. The article analyzes the essence, legal regulation, as well as statistics and practice of using the institute of acquittal in Russian criminal proceedings. Despite the fact that the proportion of acquittals is low, their presence testifies to the effectiveness of the Russian judicial system, the objectivity of the consideration of criminal cases.
