The importance of artistic-interpretation competency in the musician's professional development are justified, the definition and the model of this competency which is based on the personality-oriented method of education and which embraces the basic stages of acquiring the music interpretation are given. The multidimensionality of application the developed model which can be used in different levels of the musical education and its profiles is underlined.
