The experience of teaching Chinese traditional painting in Russian art education

Chinese painting is a special kind of art and an artistic tradition of China, firmly connected with its culture. The paper is concerned with the study of issues related to the teaching of Chinese traditional painting in the Russian Federation. In modern conditions, when the targets of educational policy have changed, the study of the experience of teaching one of the most important aspects of Chinese culture seems to be very relevant. The analysis of available scientific publications and information about the educational resources provided for teaching traditional Chinese painting in various educational institutions in Russia, as well as a methodological analysis of the activities of teachers, was carried out. It is shown that Chinese painting is still finding its place in Russian art education. To a greater extent, it is presented in the field of non-formal art education in the form of courses and master classes taught by artists who, as a rule, were trained in China. In the field of general and additional art education, there are cases of the integration of elements related to Chinese painting into existing programs. In higher art education in Russia, Chinese art is also represented at the level of private initiatives of individual teachers. At the same time, active cultural contacts allow students to come into contact with Chinese painting, forming motivation for its independent study. These processes indicate the growing interest in this art and the search for forms of its interaction with the modern educational space.
