In pathology of the ligamentous apparatus of the lens with complications during surgery associated with an extensive rupture of the posterior capsule of the lens, implantation of posterior chamber intraocular lenses is overridden with difficulties due to its unstable fixation and a high risk of dislocation of the lens into the vitreous body. In such cases, lenses are very often implanted into the anterior chamber of the eye, and lenses with pupillary fixation are used, which can further lead to the development of various complications. Implantation of an intraocular lens into the posterior chamber of the eye is the most optimal in case of complications arising during surgery; such fixation allows lens to occupy a position close to the position of natural lens. The article discusses the experience of implementing scleral fixation of posterior chamber intraocular lenses, presents the method description, considers clinical cases, and possible difficulties in mastering this technique.
