The provision of 3D modeling distance learning in the child supplementary education system

The need to provide 3D modeling distance learning in the child supplementary education system is determined by its growing popularity among school students and the importance of promoting techniques focused on the development of students’ spatial and project-related abilities. On the one hand, 3D modeling distance learning arrangements proposed by the authors bring maximum benefit to distance learning technologies. On the other hand, these arrangements minimize the differences between full-time and distance learning. It is concluded that distance learning should be provided as a real-time process based on video conferencing integrated into the LMS. The authors make a set of practical recommendations on effective teacher-student interaction in a distance learning system. The recommendations are based on the analysis of pilot distance groups who take a course in the Basics of 3D Modeling at the Children and Youth Computer Center of the Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics.
