Building research competence through teaching English to bachelor and master students

The paper deals with the issues related to building research competence when teaching English to students doing their Bachelor's and Master's degrees. The main focus is on tasks description and syllabus analysis. The author stresses the importance of building reading strategies and developing skills for presenting the research results. Particular emphasis is put on the urgency of developing research competence building syllabus. The author shares the experience and presents the findings of developing the research competence-based curricula for History and Political Science students' of Perm State University.
