Organization managerial solutions in realization of pedagogical master program: experiences of the history faculty

The article considers the problem of implementing a master’s program at the history department of a pedagogical university. In order to determine the reasons for low motivation for learning among master’s students of the history department of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education «South Ural State Humanitarian PedagogicalUniversity» studying in the program «Modern Socio-Historical Research», we conducted a survey, which allowed us to divide respondents into two groups based on differences in motives for learning: the first group of students aimed at acquiring new pedagogical competencies, and the second, aimed at acquiring the skills of historical researchers. Based on the results obtained, the authors of the study propose to adjust the content of all types of practices and use a professional (demonstration) exam as a form of certification of master’s students.
