Errors in foreign students’ speech are classified according to language aspects (phonetic, lexical, grammatical, stylistic aspects) and types of speech activity (comprehension of foreign speech, errors in speaking, reading, writing). A systemic approach helps to identify speech errors caused by the mechanisms of intralingual and interlingual interference, their interaction and interconnection. The study of typical errors made by foreign students of the Russian language is conducive to managing the process of learning.
