Fundamentals of hydraulic design for ventilated facades

Hinged facade systems with ventilated air gap are a special case of enclosing structures with ventilated air interlayers. The air flow in the vertical ventilated channel is free-convective. Free convection is one of the most economical and practical methods of removing moisture from the air gap. The question is, what should be the size (width) of the slit that ensures the passage of the maximum air flow? The article considers the option of determining a hydraulically optimal hinged ventilated channel for buildings and structures.
