Specifics of biochemical parameters of metabolism in cows in late preterm period taking into account the method of housing

The article presents the research results obtained on the basis of the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Animal Physiology of Northwestern Scientific Research Institute of Dairy and Grassland Management in the framework of NIR No. FMGZ-2025-0016. The main parameters of the biochemical profile of cows in late gestation period in tieup housing with pipeline milking and in loose housing with parlor milking have been analyzed. The research has been carried out at one of the largest agricultural enterprises in the Vologda Region. Deviations of the average values of glucose levels (42.02±1.55 mg% and 42.7±1.33 mg% with tieup and loose methods of housing, respectively) towards a reduction in the indicators have been found. A slight decrease in the level of amine nitrogen has been revealed in 74% of cows in the late stage of pregnancy. There is also a slight lack of total protein (7.96±0.26 mg% and 8.06±0.19 mg% with a tie-up and loose methods of housing, respectively). When analyzing the indicators of mineral metabolism, there is a reduction in the calcium content in the blood of 96% of down-calving cows.
