The specific features of the formation of ethnic tolerance among adolescents in the educational environment

The results of theoretical and empirical studies of the specific features of the formation of ethnic tolerance in adolescents in the conditions of the educational environment are presented. The formation of attitudes of tolerant behavior, religious tolerance, and peacefulness in multinational Russia plays an important role, especially in the modern context of constructive prevention of various types of extremism. The results of an empirical study performed on a sample of schoolchildren of the eighth grade (n = 60, 14-15 years old, Secondary School No. 15 in Engels and National (Tatar) Gymnasium in Saratov) are presented. Diagnostic tools and statistical analysis methods appropriate to the research objectives were used. It is established that the manifestation of a tolerant attitude among adolescents is determined not by their nationality, but by their personal and age characteristics, including aggressiveness and hostility. The higher the level of aggressiveness and hostility, the lower the tolerant attitude among adolescents. At the same time, the indicator of autoaggression does not affect the manifestation of tolerance. It is concluded that targeted psychological and pedagogical work is necessary for the effective formation of a tolerant attitude among adolescents in the conditions of school education
