Specific features of functioning the dialect in the Austrian artistic and mass media discourses

The article deals with the issue of revealing the stylistic functions of the dialect in the Austrian mass media and artistic discourses. On the basis of the analysis of the Austrian mass media texts there are revealed the functions of the territorial dialects in the Austrian mass media discourse: a) a persuasive function, b) an attractive function, c) an ethical function, d) the function of the creation of the comic effect. There are defined the functions of the territorial dialects in the Austrian artistic discourse on the basis of the analysis of the texts of the literary works.
