The peculiarities of functioning of neologisms-acronyms in modern English publicistic text

The relevance of this research is caused by the increasing tendency for enriching English vocabulary with new abbreviations. The purpose of this article is to examine the key features of formation of neologisms-acronyms in Modern English. The basic principles of emergence and functioning of new acronyms in newspaper and publicistic style are analyzed via examples. The traditional models of acronyms creation are identified.
