Features of students' intellectual sphere with varying degrees of inclination to research activities

In the conditions of the XXI century, the interest of scientists in the study of intelligence, creativity and research activities of individuals is not waning. Present article deals with the features of the students intellectual sphere with varying degrees of inclination to research activities on the basis of data obtained by applying such psychodiagnostics methods as “Culture Free Intelligence Test” (author - R. Cattell), subtest “Unfinished Figures” (E.P. Torrance), method “Ideal Computer” (M.A. Kholodnaya), as well as one of the methods of descriptive statistics - Wilcoxon-Mann - Whitney U test. The characteristics of the intelligence and creativity indicators of research-prone and non-research-prone students are highlighted. In conclusion, the most important external conditions for the effective formation and development of research competence to be considered in the training of future teachers are described.
