Peculiarities of using the knowledge of “self-concept” of cadets in the pedagogical process of educational organizations of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia

In modern pedagogy, personality appears as an active subject of education and upbringing. As a result of these processes and the individual's participation in his own development, his “self-concept” is formed. The relevance of the study consists in the presence of a tendency towards the formation of a self-developing personality in educational institutions of higher professional education. The article examines psychological approaches to the understanding of “self-concept” in the environment of professional training on the example of the pedagogical process of educational organizations of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. The peculiarities of using psychological knowledge to contribute to the self-development of the personality of cadets are disclosed. The role of the teacher, curator, mentor in the process of forming “self-concept” of students is considered. Possible pedagogical directions of influence on the personality of the pupil in order to form and correct his self-consciousness are indicated. The author considers “self-concept” as psychological characteristics of the personality, formed as a result of the processes of education and training of the subject at the university, as well as in the course of the processes implementation of his self-consciousness and self-development.
