Peculiarities of teaching the values of a healthy lifestyle for students of physical education and sports universities

The groundwork for the strategic changes taking place in modern education is the humanitarian educational paradigm, which forms the values-based attitude of an individual to the surrounding reality, and contributes to the development of his system of values. Therefore, it seems necessary to study the problem of choosing values, the possibilities of values education of students. The social role and value of a healthy lifestyle is increasing in the new conditions of Russia's development. One of the tasks of educational practice is the ways of transforming the understanding of health specifics into a vital value of young people. The article discusses the experience of studying the attitude to a healthy lifestyle among students of the physical education and sports university. We have substantiated the peculiarities of developing a system of personal values through a historical and theoretical analysis of philosophical, psychological and pedagogical sources on the problem under study. Evolution of the approaches to study and definition of the concept of value reflects its contradictory nature. The concept of value is understood as the unity of objective and subjective principles, conditioned by practice as its objective determinant. So, under certain conditions (for example, educational influence), values become the motivational basis for practical actions of an individual, which embody these values in life situations. Adolescence is a sensitive age for the development of individual moral guidelines. One of the key objectives of higher education is the development of values of a healthy lifestyle. Students of the branch of Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism in Irkutsk and Ezhevsky Irkutsk State Agrarian University took part in the research. The data obtained became a basis for the program of health culture development.
