Introduction. Radiation accidents cause serious long-term radioecological, medical, demographic and sociopsychological consequences, having a negative impact on the health status (organic mental and social stress disorders, psychosomatic diseases) of the exposed population and nuclear production personnel. Background. In the structure of the medical consequences of exposure to ionizing radiation, asthenic syndrome is the most frequently observed pathology both in the early and in the long-term period after irradiation at low doses, which predetermines the need to study the mechanisms of development and dynamics of clinical manifestations of asthenic syndrome in persons exposed to radiation. Objective: to study the dynamics of the development of asthenic syndrome in residents of the Southern Urals, subjected to accidental exposure, in the long-term period after radiation exposure based on archival data. Materials and Methods. The 65-year monitoring database was structured according to five-year time intervals (13 time periods in total: 1950-1955, 1956-1960, etc. up to 2011-2015). A retrospective comparative analysis of the dynamics of the clinical course of asthenic syndrome in persons with chronic radiation syndrome and exposed persons without such pathology was carried out. From the total sample of residents of settlements in the basin of the Techa River contaminated with radionuclides, who received the status of those exposed to ionizing radiation, two study groups were formed: 1) the main group (n=180) - persons diagnosed with chronic radiation syndrome; 2) comparison group (n=160) - persons who did not have a history of chronic radiation syndrome. The cumulative dose of irradiation to soft tissues (as an analog of brain irradiation) turned out to be statistically significantly higher (р function show_eabstract() { $('#eabstract1').hide(); $('#eabstract2').show(); $('#eabstract_expand').hide(); }
